As health + wellness professionals and practitioners, we create safe spaces for our students and clients to do transformative work. It is a vital part of our job to also nourish ourselves and attend to our own health + wellness needs.

This past week I had the honor and privilege of doing just that, while being surrounded by a circle of amazing, supportive and beautiful women entrepreneurs, also doing their work. Perched on the precipice of a caldera in Northern California, invigorated by clean air and sky we went deep and wide in a process of self-discovery and I am immeasurably transformed.

As I return to work today, I am reminded of how, the ebb + flow of our journey shapes, deepens + transforms the work we do with clients.

So, for my sisters (and brothers) doing soulful and transformative work in the world, if you are reading this and note that you have been neglecting to tend your own inner well-spring, let this be a gentle invitation to reconnect with whatever practices, habits, or forms of nourishment you need to brighten your light and strengthen your soul.

Often in focusing on others, whether they be clients, family, friends, or work colleagues, we may, at times, neglect to tend to our own wellness needs.

This is an especially common tendency for those of us in healing and helping professions.

So, today, take some time to turn inward and reflect.

Remember that we don’t need to wait for a vacation, retreat or “get away” to focus on self-care. We can tap in, with our next breath, our next thought, our next action. And remember,

As we do our own work, we can be of greater service to our clients + students.

So, take stock today and notice if there is an unmet desire or need that is pushing its way into your consciousness. If so, note whether it is on the physical, spiritual, social, or mental plane and ask yourself, is there something:

  • I need to add?
  • I need to let go of?
  • Around which I need support?

Whatever comes up for you, whether it is to:

  • Add: journaling, morning walk, meditation, a daily devotional practice, weekly girlfriend-time, or to cultivate a creative new habit
  • Let go of a recurring task or habit that does not align with your highest potential
  • Get some help and support where you need it

May you embrace and celebrate it!

Cheers to my soulful yogini-sisters, creatives and health and wellness peeps doing transformative work; may you anchor deeply into your most nourishing self care practices this week and re-invigorate yourself and your work from the inside out.

Peace.
